Disciple

Recently, We celebrated the feast of  St. Mary Magdalene.

The church celebrate it as a memorial, but in our town we celebrate it as a solemnity because she is our patron saint.

Mary Magdalene is my favorite saint, thats why I dedicate this entry as a tribute to her.

Christians, Catholics or non- catholic we can learn many things from this women as we recognize ourselves as followers of Jesus.

Who is Mary Magdalene??

Among all the characters in the Bible, I think Mary of Magdala is the one with a most confusing identity.
Some said that she is a prostitute and someone that commits many sins.

The bible did not say any name for the prostitute. I dont know why people said that it is Mary Magdalene.

If Mary Magdalene is with us now, maybe she might said, "ok, if thats what you know about me. The most important is what happens to me when Jesus became a part of my life".

According to the sacred scriptures, Mary is the one that has been healed by Jesus from 7 demons.

From that day of encounter with Jesus, Mary became a follower to Him.
Mary felt the love of Jesus for her, and because of that She also loves Jesus.
She offers herself to follow the Lord, to learn from God.
She follow Jesus until death.

When Jesus is persecuted, all the disciples of Jesus hides because of fear except John.
Together with Mary the mother of God and the beloved disciple of Jesus, Mary Magdalene follows Jesus up to the foot of the cross.

Because of the love she felt from Jesus.
Bravely, she continue the journey with Christ.

At the foot of the cross, she continues to cry as she sees her master hanging in there, bloody.
She became brave to follow Him because of her love for Jesus.

During the time of resurrection, she went to the tomb of Jesus very early.
For me, this manifest the great love of Mary to Jesus and her desire to see and give respect even to the dead body of her Master.

as what we know, Mary saw an empty tomb.
she told this to the other apostles, and when the other apostles also see the empty tomb they go back home, but Mary stays there, crying.... hurting so much because of the death of Jesus and now because of His missing body.
and because of her cry Jesus heard her call, and the risen Lord appears to her calling her name "Mary" and by this she recognize that it is Jesus.

Mary Magdalene becomes the bearer of the Good News, the Best news.
The Lord is Risen.

Mary Magdalene went and announced to the disciples "I Have seen the Lord" and what Jesus told her.

**

As a Christian, like Mary Magdalene we must learn how to follow Jesus because of love and not because of what we can get from Him

All of us are sinners, the most important is, do you recognize your sins and are you willing to ask for the forgiveness of God?

All sins can be forgiven because of God's overflowing love and mercy.

Offer your life to God, let us Love Jesus like Mary, because in the first place we are Loved by Him.

Let Jesus be your number 1 desire.
Like Mary that desires to see the lord and persevere to see Him.
Not like the other apostles who go home when they saw an empty tomb.
Because of Her perseverance, the Lord appears to her and became the first to see the Risen Jesus.

Let us pray that in our life like Mary we may say, "I have seen the Lord".

Lets make the life of Mary Magdalene as an example to listening, following and Loving Jesus.

May your life be truly blessed,

GIFTS!

A young man was getting ready to graduate college. For
many months he had admired a beautiful sports car in a dealer's
showroom, and knowing his father could well afford it, he told
him that was all he wanted.

As Graduation Day approached, the young man awaited
signs that his father had purchased the car. Finally, on the
morning  of his graduation his father called him into his private
study. His father told him how proud he was to have such a fine
son, and  told him how much he loved him. He handed his son
a beautiful   wrapped gift box.

Curious, but somewhat disappointed the young man
opened the box and found a lovely, leather-bound Bible. Angrily,
he raised his voice at his father and said, "With all your money you
give  me  a Bible?" and stormed out of the house, leaving the holy
book.

Many years passed and the young man was very successful in
business.
He had a beautiful home and wonderful family, but realized his
father was very old, and thought perhaps he should go to him. He
had   not seen him since that graduation day. Before he could make
arrangements, he received a telegram telling him his father had
passed away, and willed all of his possessions to his son. He
needed   to come home immediately and take care things.
When he arrived at  his father's house, sudden sadness and
regret filled his heart.

He began to search his father's important papers and
saw the still new Bible, just as he had left it years ago. With
tears,  he opened the Bible and began to turn the pages. As he
read those   words, a car key dropped from an envelope
taped behind the Bible.
It  had a tag with the dealer's name, the same dealer who had the
sports  car he had desired. On the tag was the date of his graduation,
and the words...PAID IN FULL.

Blessings are hidden in every person, things, and  everything that happens to your life.
All you need to do is to look at it not only with its packaging but with whats inside it and recognize it and by that time you will realize every moment you must thank the Lord.

How many times do we miss God's blessings because they are not
packaged as we expected?

May your life be truly Blessed,

Dash

How is your living?
Are you living a great life?

I just wanna share to you this poem......

***************************

I read of a man who stood to speak
at the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
from the beginning...to the end.

He noted that first came her date of birth
and spoke the following date with tears,
but he said what mattered most of all
was the “dash” between those years. (1934 -1998)

For that dash represents all the time
that she spent alive on earth...
and now only those who loved her
know what that little line is worth.

For it matters not, how much we own;
the cars...the house...the cash,
what matters is how we live and love
and how we spend our “dash”.

So think about this long and hard...
are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left,
that can still be rearranged.

If we could just slow down enough
to consider what's true and real,
and always try to understand
the way other people feel.

And be less quick to anger,
and show appreciation more
and love the people in our lives
like we've never loved before.

If we treat each other with respect,
and more often wear a smile...
remembering that this special “dash”
might only last a little while.

So, when your eulogy's being read
with your life's actions to rehash...
would you be proud of the things they say
about how you spent your “dash”?

**********************

Spent your life with God.
Walk with Him before its to late..

Love... Love... Love...

May your life be truly blessed,

Ash
