WHo are WE????

When you are walking on the street and someone needs a little help like picking something falls down from his pocket, will you lend a hand? and give little effort to help?

How do you want to be remembered?

It is an important question.
When someone ask you that what will be your response?

It is so easy to slide from one day to the next out of auto pilot.
doing things that you usually do everyday.

At the end of our life, at the end of YOUR life, when everything else falls away. what essence of you shines out?
What have you done in this world?

In remembering you, which words will others choose?

I wonder, dont you?

of all the possible adjectives that can use to describe, i think  the word KIND must be one of those.

For me if people remembers you of being kind, you have lived a life worthy of being remembered.

One time I saw a woman, an old woman walking and carrying many grocery bags.
The woman find it so hard to carry it alone.
Later, a man approach the old woman and offer his help. They carry the bags together until the woman makes her ride on a bus.

That act was not too heroic but it was so KIND.

Imagine a world without kindness..
What do you see?

A world that is full of selfishness. Working only for individual satisfaction.

more kindness leads to a more meaningful life, goodwill in a school and in your community.

So, Lucky for us that kindness is easy and natural thing.
It only requires awareness to those around you. being sensitive to your fellow human.

Like when in a public place like library, a simple act of kindness like turn your phone in silent mode for a while.

Let us learn to have more awareness and more KINDNESS..

Finally, We might ask, how do we collectively as a people want to be remembered?
What is our purpose?

I think the answer lies in the word....

We are manKIND.

Hunger

Have you finished your meal?

Maybe your eat on your own home, some outside..

Like restaurants, fastfood, cafe..

have you eaten all the food on your plate?
Or do you have many left overs?

When ordering some foods with your friends and family, Do you think of somebody who have nothing to eat?

Maybe your ordering too much than what you can eat.
And the excess food will go straight to the trash bin of  the restaurant.

Many people died out of hunger everyday.
When we are eating, I hope everyone of us think of someone who have nothing.
Do not waste food.

Recently, I saw two children, swimming on a river of garbage.
It is so dangerous to be there.
There are many germ and bacteria coming from the garbage that can harm their health.
But for them, there is no garbage but instead there is a source of something that they can use to buy their needs.
They are swimming like playing on the water.
Some water from that dirty river comes inside their mouth.
But I think they are immune with that.

By watching on them, many thoughts comes to my mind.

One is the upcoming election in our country, the Philippines.

This country like those two child are also hungry.
Hungry for change.

The future of this country depends on how we will choose our the person who will lead us.
The person that can do everything that they promise during campaign.
A person who has a lot of things to do but few words to say.
Not just full of promise, but no initiative.

When the moment comes that you will shade the ballot.

Please think not only for yourself, but most of all for other people, especially children, the poor who depends on the government support to continue their lives. For the sick who are dying because they have no money to avail medicine, for the children that cannot go to school because of child labor. and most of all please think of this country who experienced corruption and many problems from the same person that promise heaven during campaign but brings hell after being elected.

Vote for someone who does not see presidency as a position with power, but instead who sees presidency as duty to serve people with love.

And for us, as a people of this world.
Please do care for those who are in need.
Let us learn to take care each other.
They don't need mercy, they needed to be care and above all they are need to be LOVE.
As what our Lord told us,
"Love one another as I have Loved you"

We are blessed and loved by God, and the Lord wants us to reach out and make that same love also felt by others and use our blessing that we received  to bless those in need.

Let me finish this entry with the three of my favorite quotes all coming from a person who serve the God by LOVING the poor..

"Do not wait for leaders; do it alone, person to person."

"Being unwanted, unloved, uncared for, forgotten by everybody, I think that is a much greater hunger, a much greater poverty than the person who has nothing to eat. "

"If you can't feed a hundred people, then feed just one. "

Don't GIVE UP

In life there are lots of things that we might experience.

Happy moments.
Glorious moments.
Loving moments.
moments in abundance.
and many more...

We will experience happiness during some celebration feast and doing things that we like.

Some moments in our life that we are treasuring so much like graduation, wedding and birthdays.

But I know all of us have moments when we feel so sad, guilty, angry and some negative feelings.

It is normal.

Whenever you feel so down what will you do?
Are you going to sit down and wait?
Wait for other people to solve your problems?
Wait for other people to lift you up?

Or are you going to get up by yourself and face tomorrow with confidence?

Sometimes we experience falling down,
with so many problems and there are moments we think that our problems are too many for us to solve.
School problems,
Family problems,
Financial problems,
grievances, anxiety...

and you feel that there is no hope at all,
That there is no way to solve your problems.

Its like you fell on ground face down.
You are feeling helpless,
You feel that your friends and family run away from you and leave you alone.

When you are down literally, what will you do?

Are you going to start walking? NO..
Running? No..

What you gonna do is to stand up..

Just like when you feel your so down.
You need to find that strength to get back up....

You can find some motivations, your family, your child , your friends and many more..
and if you found nothing look again, because yourself needs you more than anybody else in this world.
When there is no one there for you do it for yourself..

Its not how hard you fall down,
It is how you will get up and walk in your life again..

You can try a thousand times to get back up, and if you fail a thousand times...
If you fail and you GIVE UP.
Do you think you can get up?

NO.

But if you fail and try again and again and again and again.....
you need to know that is not the end of your life,

It matters on how you gonna finish,

Are YOU gonna FINISH STRONG??

don't lose hope, you are going to find that strength to get back up..

Just don't GIVE UP....

Friends..

All of us have friends.

Maybe our classmates, workmates, groupmates, schoolmates, and many more.

They are the one that makes you laugh and also cry.
The one that tease you until you freak out and then later will say sorry and after that you will laugh again together.

Some of us spends lots of time with our friends,
In good times, bad times they are our companions.
We open our problems with them and make a solution together.

We feel very comfortable if we are with our friends,
Why?

Maybe because we feel that me and my friends are equal.
not like in our own houses where you know that you have a parents and other relatives that is older and have much authority in your house than you. They are the one that needs to be followed and you have no choice to obey them.

That feeling is gone when we are with our friends, you treat each other as equal in authority with each other.

But have you ask yourself, are this people around me are my true friends??

They say that friends can also become our worst enemy. This I think is true, but i have faith that if my friends are real friends, no matter how big trials will come that will affect our friendship we can manage it correctly and together we can solve it. Every trials is test of friendship, it can destroy your friendship but it if handle each trial with trust it can make your friendship stronger.

Friends are gift from God to guide us, love us and to be our companion in every moment of our life.

When your friend makes a wrong way while taking his journey through his life,
be the arrow that points to the right path,

When your friends having a dark moments in life,
be the light that shines and brings hope.

Don't tolerate your friends vices,
give advice if needed.

and most of all Love one another..

This world will be peaceful if all of us became friends supported by love to each other.

I hope that someday, that will not remain a dream.

I hope that very soon, that to Love one another will be the habit of all people...

If we want true peace, start to be a friend in your neighborhood and you will notice later on that friendship you share to your neighbor will reach the whole community, country, and sooner you will be surprise the whole world becomes your friend.

Only if we realize that simple things really matter, the problems of the world will be solved unconsciously.

For of my friends,

 I love you all....

The Light

Happy Easter Everyone!!!

After 40 days of preparation, we are now celebrating and at the same time entering the season of easter.
This season, we remember Christ's Resurrection.

This past weeks we are in the mood of sadness because we remembered the passion and death of our lord.
His great sacrifice,
His passion,
His agony,
His death...

This are the things that we focused during lent.
Jesus' immeasurable love for us.
He loves us so much, that He sacrifice even His own life on each and everyone of us, even though we are not deserving of such sacrifices.

..............................................................................

The Victory

The whole world now celebrating the MOST important celebration of the year.
The church have lots of feast celebrated every year, but this occasion is the feast above all the feast.
The center of our faith, It is more important even than Christmas.

Jesus' Triumphant victory over death,..
manifested that He is the Lord..

The fulfillment of the scriptures,..

From the darkness of death here comes our light.. The light that we will see in Jesus.

In all the masses of the church, the easter vigil is the longest and most dramatic.

Why dramatic??

The mass starts not inside the church, but outside.
Outside there will be a bonfire.

In our church, there is a zip line connected from the bell tower to the bonfire.
When the priest commanded to light the bonfire, a fire ball coming from the bell tower will pass through the zip line. And this fireball will ignite the fire.

The fire will be blessed, and from that fire the "paschal candle" will be lightened.

The paschal candles symbolizes Jesus as our light that defeats that darkness.

From outside the candle will be brought inside the church, the priest holding the candle will stop 3 times and will say, "Christ our Light" or "Light of Christ" and the people will response "thanks be to God".

all of this happening while all the light of the church turned off, the only light you will see is the fire from the paschal candle. from that fire the people will light their own candle.

How beautiful it is to see that slowly the fire of the candle passed to each people to light their own candle.
Its like the light of Jesus will light up the whole church.

At the altar, the priest will sing the 'Exultet' or the easter proclamation.

After this the liturgy of the word begins, the candle of the people needs to be blown while the light still off and the darkness covering the whole church...

7 readings and 7 responsorial psalm....

after all this reading the Gloria is sung for the first time since the beginning of lent, at the same time the light of the whole church will now turned on. Symbolizing that Jesus conquers and reign victorious over darkness and death...

And the celebration will go on, we also renew our baptismal vows during this mass....
........................................................................

That is how dramatic it is..

Some will ask why??

Why we need to do this?

If someone will ask me that question, i might probably answer him. Why not??

We are celebrating our salvation, The victory of our champion, Jesus.
This is the center of our faith, that Jesus is alive, risen from the death.

-

The story of Jesus in this world does not end in passion and death.
Remember He is risen.

There is a famous saying," In every good Friday there is an easter Sunday".

In everything that you've been through, all the problems, trials and things that you might face.
do not forget there is a resurrection.

Jesus is our light,
Jesus is our life,

We must reflect the light coming from Jesus, so that this world will not always see darkness but light,
The light that guides us,
the light that defeats the darkness of evil.

So with all the trials, problems, anxiety, believe that the story does not end there,
Have faith that like Jesus our Lord, we will have our own resurrection in our life,
and like Jesus, our story will also end up VICTORIOUS!!
